Berry Seed Oil

Oxford, CT (March 23, 2007) - Natural Sourcing is pleased to announce the addition of omega-rich, cold pressed berry seed oils to its line of natural cosmeceutical ingredients. Natural Sourcing's new berry seed oil selection includes black raspberry, blackberry, blackcurrant, blueberry, cranberry and red raspberry oils.

Studies reveal that oils extracted from the seeds of these berries are extremely stable and that these oils can support the overall stability of products that incorporate them. The high content of natural tocopherols and tocotrienols are responsible for their stability, and they offer great nutritive benefit to the skin. Berry oils are high in essential fatty acids, vitamins and phytonutrients. Berry oils provide outstanding emollient properties and can help protect the skin and hair from damage from the elements.

The high content of natural antioxidants in cranberry seed oil has set a new standard for stability and performance in polyunsaturated oils. It lends superior oxidative stability and remarkable lipid barrier protection. Testing indicates that cranberry seed oil possesses the highest quantity of tocotrienols of any vegetable oil. It possesses a unique balance of Omega 3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids not found in other oils. Black raspberry and red raspberry seed oils consist of up to 85% essential fatty acids. Red raspberry seed oil offers the skin broad spectrum protection from damaging UV-A and UV-B rays, making it a valuable ingredient in sun care products. Blueberry seed oil is one of nature's most potent antioxidants, and research shows that blueberry seed oil possesses significant radical scavenging properties.
